Appleton TMC2X connector promises installation ease, speed and reliability

April 16, 2013 | By Anthony Capkun

April 16, 2013 – Appleton says the basic principles behind the design of the TMC2X connector for jacketed metal clad cable are installation ease, speed and reliability. The two-piece design of TMC2X connectors requires no disassembly, so there are no parts with which to fumble, or possibly drop from high ladders. Installers simply prepare the cable end, insert it into the TMC2X cable gland, and tighten the nut to secure the cable armour. Appleton adds that its RapidEx barrier seal is easier to install than standard epoxy/clay compounds. You simply mix the two-part epoxy resin compound in an applicator pouch, then pour the mixed compound into the cable gland and around the conductors using the applicator tip. No kneading or packing required. RapidEx compound flows freely to eliminate any gaps or voids, and cures fully in as little as 20 minutes.
