January 24, 2014 – Avlite Systems—a designer and producer of solar-powered aviation lighting equipment—says its AV-OL series universal AC and universal DC obstruction lighting fixtures have been certified to meet FAA L-810 requirements.

The models can be used for marking obstacles posing a threat to aircraft, such as telecom towers, wind turbines, buildings and other tall structures. The DC models can accept an input voltage ranging from 12-48vDC, while the AC models can accept 110-240vAC. Combined visual and infrared (IR) options are available, as are optional solar power configurations. There is also an optional RS44/485 communication port for monitoring (DC version).
