Beacons for talent and innovation – Canada Best Managed companies 2023

June 1, 2023 – Deloitte Canada announced the companies that have joined the ranks of Canada’s Best Managed Companies (2023), and updated its list of Best Managed, Gold Standard, and Platinum Club companies.
“I am always amazed by the fortitude of our Best Managed Companies, who continue to act as global beacons for all of the talent and innovation Canada has to offer,” said Lorrie King, national co-leader of the program and partner with Deloitte Private (a division of Deloitte focused on serving private clients).

Best Managed – Award recipients that have re-applied and successfully retained their Best Managed designation for two additional years.
Gold Standard – After three consecutive years of maintaining their Best Managed status, these companies have demonstrated their commitment to the program and successfully retained their award for 4-6 consecutive years.
Platinum Club – Winners that have maintained their Best Managed status for 7 years or more.

To attain Best Managed standing, candidates apply annually and submit to an assessment led by a multi-disciplinary judging panel. Companies are evaluated on their level of maturity on four core pillars: strategy, commitment, capability, and financials.
New this year, applicants were awarded bonus points for demonstrating practices in the realm of ESG (environmental, social, and governance), with emphasis on reducing GHG emissions, limiting waste, improving energy efficiency, and cultivating diversity.
