Belden introduced FiberExpress Brilliance field-installable SC multimode connectors for 900µ fiber termination at the BICSI Fall Conference in Las Vegas. They will be available for order in October, with APC and jacketed versions available by the end of the year. The design of the new connector enables contractors to terminate a tightly buffered fiber in just three steps: insert the fiber into the connector; slide connector’s activator toward the fiber to be terminated; slide the boot on the connector body.

With the addition of a breakout kit, Brilliance field-installable connectors can be used for loose-tube fiber installations. The connectors are also built to withstand a range of temperatures (-400 to +750 C).
