Belkin gets cooking with expanded range of WeMo devices

January 7, 2014 | By Anthony Capkun

January 7, 2014 – Belkin is introducing a slate of new WeMo devices, including the WeMo LED lighting starter set and WeMo smart LED bulbs, the WeMo Maker Kit and, yes, even a Crock-Pot.

WeMo devices use your Wi-Fi network and mobile internet to control home electronics right from your smartphone. WeMo also works with ifTTT (“If This Then That”), connecting your home electronics to online apps.

The lighting starter set and smart LED bulbs allow you to control, schedule and dim from anywhere via the WeMo Link and app. The bulbs are 60W-equivalent with 800 lumens and 3000K, and can be controlled individually or in groups. The WeMo Maker empowers you to build your own WeMo solutions by adding internet connectivity to any device controlled with a DC switch, such as motors, sprinkler systems, antennas and more. A small module that wires into low-voltage devices, WeMo Maker also lets you monitor and manage a range of 5vDC sensors from anywhere using a smartphone or tablet.
