Berkeley Varitronics Systems (BVS) released what it calls “an advanced hand-held cell phone detector” called the “Bloodhound”. The detector will enable security officers to scan in real time for unauthorized cell phone activity in correctional facilities, and detect the precise location of the caller using a direction finding antenna. The mobile Bloodhound has a high-speed scanning multi-band receiver harnessed to a phased-array, dual-band DF antenna, which allows it to trigger on to a cell phone while in use.
