BICSI 2012 Winter Conference Awards honour industry members

June 26, 2012 – Earlier this year, 2012 BICSI Winter Conference & Exhibition attendees came together to celebrate and honour the individuals who have contributed to BICSI and to the information technology systems (ITS) industry. And EBMag was there!

Who took home top honours at this year’s awards banquet dinner?

• Ray Gendron/BICSI Cares Scholarship: David Picariello, Electronics Engineering Technology student at Humber College in Toronto, Ont.; Joseph Lentine, Computer Information Systems student at the University of Akron in Akron, Ohio.

• Larry G. Romig Committee Member of the Year: David Bowling and his wife, Myra Bowling

• David K. Blythe/University of Kentucky Award for Outstanding Member of the Year: Patricia A. Fisher

• Presidential Eagle Award: David M. Richards

• Harry J. Pfister Award for Excellence in the Telecommunications Industry: Mark S. Harger

During the conference, 16 ITS installers and technicians raced against the clock and each other, competing in several technical tasks during the fifth annual BICSI Cabling Skills Challenge. The overall winner was Thomas “Lee” Renfroe.
