BICSI—an association supporting the “information transport systems (ITS)” industry—appointed Jeff Silveira the new director of standards.

“Joining BICSI to direct the standards program is a rare opportunity,”
said Silveira about his recent appointment. “The need for the ITS
industry and its standards is rapidly growing in areas such as
healthcare, education and electronic security—areas that will
positively affect the lives of people worldwide.”

Silveira joins BICSI from Semiconductor Equipment & Materials
International (SEMI)—an industry association serving the manufacturing
supply chains for the microelectronic, display and photovoltaic
industries. Silveira possesses expertise in all facets of standards
development and organization, says BICSI, including experience with the
American National Standards Institute (ANSI) development and
accreditation processes, and activity in the Standards Engineering
Society (SES).
