April 15, 2014 | By Alyssa Dalton

April 15, 2014 – Jerry L. Bowman—immediate past president and security industry liaison of BICSI—has been appointed to a three-year term on the InfraGard National Members Alliance (INMA) board. The appointment was announced by BICSI, an association dedicated to advancing the information and communications technology (ICT) community.

According to BICSI, Bowman’s recent appointment enhances and affirms the association’s commitment to provide education, training and credentialing for ICT professionals working in the electronic safety and security (ESS) field, adding that this, in turn, supports the INMA’s mission to provide its members with education and information to protect critical infrastructures from both physical and cyber security threats.

“Jerry was instrumental in expanding the BICSI business model to include ESS stakeholders, and he has always been steadfast in his commitment and dedication to the ESS sector,” said association president Michael A. Collins. “He was a natural choice for his new role as the BICSI security industry liaison and I look forward to the many opportunities that will arise from our future collaboration with the INMA through Jerry’s role on their board.”

Bowman served on the BICSI board for eight years, including two years as president. Throughout his 17 years as a member and a longtime contributor to BICSI’s educational offerings and various strategic initiatives, Bowman served as chair of several BICSI committees and helped create and implement the NxtGEN program. During his term as president, Bowman also oversaw the signing of BICSI’s Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with ASIS International.
