BICSI, an association “supporting the information technology systems (ITS) industry”, has signed the letter of intent to purchase the Telecommunications Project Manager (TPM) training intellectual property from Don Nelson Consulting.
The IP includes the PM125: Telecommunications Project Management Program
class, as well as several others. Based on the courses, BICSI will
create a new Registered Telecommunications Project Manager (RTPM)
specialist credential, slated for launch in 2011.
“This is a great strategic move for BICSI and our members,” commented
Brian Hansen, BICSI president. “The RTPM will be a very nice addition to
the BICSI suite of credentials and one that fulfils the needs of those
project managers working in the ITS infrastructure.”
The program covers the entire cycle of a project, from bid to
completion. It will provide the student with a basic understanding of
project management concepts and tools, and will focus on construction
projects as they relate to ITS design and installation projects. Primary
project types discussed include telecommunications, information
technology, outside plant and wireless design.
