BICSI – an association supporting the information technology systems industry with information, education and knowledge assessment, announced the release of its newest standard: BICSI 002-2010 “Data Center Design and Implementation Best Practices.” The BICSI 002 addresses the lack of information on mechanical, electrical and telecommunications systems in general reference manuals or standards. Complementing existing standards, it includes requirements, recommendations and additional information that should be considered such as site selection, layout, thermal systems and security. The BICSI’s standards committee has over 200 members around the world and the Data Center Subcommittee was established in 2004. The BICSI 002 is available for purchase at their site below.
