November 13, 2015 – Broan says it has a new “ultra-silent” central vacuum product platform that cleans the air while cleaning the floors.

 
According to the company, the BQ series (replacing the VX) combines “sound-absorbing high-performance materials, a rigid structure and anti-vibration mounts to limit vibration noise, and special assembly techniques” that make these vacuums up to 17 dB quieter than the previous generation without the need for an external muffler.
 
This system is ideal for homes up to 9000 sf, Broan says. The Thru-Flow motor is available in three models: 500, 600 and 650 air watts.
 
It also includes features such as HEPA air filtration that captures up to 99.97% of all dust and particles, the company adds.
