May 25, 2021 – Carbon footprint mitigation, supply chain management, efficient jobsite and built environment, advanced building materials, new construction methods… these are the 5 Categories of the 2021 Construction Startup Competition.

Under the slogan “Build your own legend”, CEMEX Ventures launched Construction Startup Competition 2021, renewing its alliance with construction industry players Ferrovial, Hilti, VINCI Group’s Leonard and NOVA by Saint-Gobain, and further joined by GS Group and Haskell.

“To participate in Construction Startup Competition 2021 means to knock directly on the doors of seven global leading companies in construction,” said Gonzalo Galindo, head of CEMEX Ventures.

Speaking of CEMEX’s partners in the competition, Galindo said, “These seven leaders cover the whole construction value chain, and understand what the opportunity areas in the entire construction ecosystem are to find the best solutions and solve the main challenges of the industry”.

The application phase closes June 27, 2021. After an analysis by the seven organizing companies, the winners will be announced in Q3 2021. By the end of the year, they will join the directors of the companies in a Pitch Day event, along with other companies focused on construction, innovation, investment, and technology.
