March 22, 2016 – Some familiar names are once again heading the list for the 2016 World’s Most Ethical Companies, as compiled by the Ethisphere Institute.

Congratulations to Schneider Electric, ABB, TE Connectivity, 3M, Cisco, GE, Johnson Controls, MSA – The Safety Company, ON Semiconductor, Rockwell Automation, and The Timken Co.

This is 3M’s third consecutive year winning the title.

“3M’s 100-plus years demonstrate a sustainable business advantage that is supported by their values and commitment to ethics and innovation,” said Ethisphere’s CEO Timothy Erblich. “They clearly understand their role in the broader global business community and recognize the value of operating with integrity.”

ABB took the title for the fourth year in a row.

“At ABB we think of integrity as a call for continuing action. Our culture is aimed at ‘Don’t look the other way’ and we have combined safety and integrity as an individual and team indicator for performance,” said Diane de Saint Victor with ABB.

The World’s Most Ethical Companies program stated it honours companies that excel in three areas: promoting ethical business standards and practices internally, enabling managers and employees to make good choices, and shaping future industry standards by introducing tomorrow’s best practices today. Honourees have historically out-performed others financially, demonstrating the connection between good ethical practices and performance that’s valued in the marketplace.

In 2016, 131 honourees were named, spanning 21 countries and five continents and representing over 45 industries. In its 10th year, the list includes 14 ten-time honourees and 13 first-time honourees.
