May 6, 2016 – Pentair has completed a 65,000-sf expansion at its Redwood City operations in California’s Silicon Valley, allowing for expanded manufacturing capabilities, a new technology center with research and development labs, and a learning center to provide training opportunities for industry professionals. The site manufactures the company’s Raychem brand heat tracing cable for residential, commercial and industrial applications.

“This expansion supports our new product innovations and continued commitment to make significant improvements in products, services, and facilities to meet the needs of our customers now and in the future.” said Alok Maskara, president of Pentair Technical Solutions.

Pentair says its Raychem brand products have a strong history in Silicon Valley, dating back more than 50 years. Paul Cook, an MIT graduate, founded Raychem Corporation in 1957, as a pioneer in polymer science.

According to Pentair, its Raychem brand has manufactured more than 1.75 billion ft of heat tracing cable worldwide.
