Standard Products consolidating warehouse operations

February 22, 2018 | By Anthony Capkun

February 22, 2018 – Lighting player Standard Products says that its transformation from a lamp/ballast business to a fixture business has challenged it “to manage our production and inventories”, which is why the company is making some changes to its warehousing and distribution centres.

Effective June 1, 2018, Standard will consolidate its warehouse operations to its two distribution centres in Vancouver and Montreal. The Vancouver DC will service Saskatchewan to British Columbia, and the Montreal DC will service Manitoba to Newfoundland & Labrador.

“Inventory availability and fill rates will improve dramatically, while delivery lead times will be maintained for the vast majority of our customers,” says Standard.

The company added it will be maintaining its Ontario sales operation, which consists of inside and outside sales, and quotations. In fact, this team will be moving into a new facility in Mississauga, Ont., which promises to be Standard’s “largest interactive showroom to date, providing hands-on experience and training for our customers in this market”.
