Canadian Electricity Association now simply “Electricity Canada”

March 1, 2022 | By Anthony Capkun

March 1, 2022 – The Canadian Electricity Association has rebranded to Electricity Canada.

Electricity Canada undertook a review of its previous brand—Canadian Electricity Association—under its 2021-2025 Strategic Plan. That review revealed “a shift in mentality: from focused advocacy to broader efforts surrounding the net zero conversation”.

“There is no one technology or solution to the climate problem,” said Ken Hartwick, president & CEO of Ontario Power Generation, and Electricity Canada board chair. “It’s going to require every ounce of ingenuity we have. Electricity Canada recognizes the energy required, and has undergone a rebrand to speak to this broader, collective approach.”

“When we took on the review of the Canadian Electricity Association and our advocacy impact in Ottawa, we discovered there was an opportunity to be more of a leader in the clean energy space,” added Julia Muggeridge, vice-president, Communications. “[We] hope this rebrand will further our strong relationships with government, with stakeholders and with our membership.”
