Capital Safety DBI-SALA 50-Foot Sealed-Blok SRL
August 10, 2010 | By Alyssa Dalton
August 10, 2010 – Capital Safety – a manufacturer of fall protection, confined space and rescue equipment – expanded its line of Sealed-Blok self-retracting lines (SRL) with the DBI-SALA 50-Foot Sealed-Blok SRL. The new SRL is designed to “withstand the harshest operating environments” and “industry-first features” such as the optional RSQ dual-mode rescue capability, FAST-Line field replaceable lifeline, 420-pound weight capacity, and IP68 certification, says Capital Safety.
The RSQ rescue capability allows the user to pre-set either the automatic rescue mode or the fall arrest mode. If a fall occurs the automatic rescue mode will arrest the fall then automatically lower the worker to safety, whereas the fall arrest mode will arrest the fall until an assisted rescue can take place. The FAST-Line field replaceable lifeline provides users with the option of replacing their lifeline rather than sending it to an authorized service center. For added security, the SRL will not operate if the cable is installed incorrectly.
The SRL has an input crank handle as a primary brake that prevents movement upon release and an optional bracket for attachment to tripods or davits. All components, including the brakes, are sealed inside the housing that is made of cast aluminum where the gauge is made of stainless steel end plates. The SRL has a built-in carrying handle, an anti-ratcheting pawl design and comes with a built-in i-Safe Intelligent Safety System RFID tag to track inspections and other information.
