October 15, 2015 - The Canadian Apprenticeship Forum (CAF-FCA) has a “theme partner” for its next national conference, taking place June 5-7, 2016 in Vancouver, B.C. The National Electrical Trade Council (NETCO)—an industry-funded, non-profit organization that says it provides national leadership on workforce development linked to Red Seal electrical trades—will be the lead sponsor at the biennial event, geared to connecting Canada’s apprenticeship stakeholders.

September 8, 2015 - StatsCan is conducting its National Apprenticeship Survey (NAS) from September 2015 to February 2016, and the folks behind Canada’s Red Seal—the Canadian Council of Directors of Apprenticeship (CCDA)—says “We need the support of stakeholders [employers, labour, training providers and others] to encourage participation in this important survey.”
September 3, 2015 - British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) now offers specific training for industrial electricians through its Industrial Electrician Apprenticeship program.
May 21, 2015 - The Canadian Council of Directors of Apprenticeship (CCDA) has announced its new strategic directions for 2015-2017. The council says it took stock of where it is with current initiatives when it met in early February and re-prioritized its work to complete these projects “so that they are sustainable in the long-term.”
April 24, 2015 - Bruce Power is launching a new post-secondary Aboriginal Scholarship program to support students from local Aboriginal communities.
