February 24, 2016 – Caterpillar’s new Cat XQ35 mobile diesel generator set is rated at 35 kVA and meets Tier 4 Final emission standards, while “improving fuel efficiency and optimizing productivity for rental operations in Canada”, the company says.

The XQ35 will be available in Q2 2016, the third Tier 4 Final product in the range extending from 35 to 570 kVA.

Equipped with Caterpillar’s EMCP 4.2B control panel, the latest Cat XQ mobile generator set features power metering, protective relaying and engine and generator control and monitoring. Multiple distribution options provide additional receptacles as well, the company notes.

It also includes multi-speed fan drive technology and, according to Caterpillar, is capable of 500-hour oil change intervals.
