August 28, 2018 — Cementex recently released the updated UltraLite series of arc flash PPE task wear, available in 11- and 12-cal/cm2 and 40 cal/cm2. The UltraLite features a standard colour gray, which reflects sunlight for heat reduction in outdoor applications and allows for easier identification of contamination, as well as any dirt or debris that may compromise the garments’ safety.

The line of garments includes a coat/coverall, pants with a bib, a 40 cal hood, and a balaclava-hooded long-sleeve t-shirt. The hood can be upgraded with an optional ventilation fan system or hood lamp. Kits are available that include gloves, a helmet and face shield, as well as a basic tool kit.

The technology used to create the 40 cal/cm2 UltraLite joins two materials to produce protective garments that are 37 per cent lighter than typical 40 cal/cm2 garments. The series also meets ASTM F1506 standards and ASTM F1959/F1959M-99.
