Channellock insulates pliers for up to 1,000 V

February 11, 2019 – Channellock has designed a new line of insulated pliers, rated up to 1,000 V AC, for electricians and other professionals who need to comply with occupational health and safety (OHS) rules on the job.

The line includes: 8-in. long nose pliers with a pipe grip design to accommodate various shapes and crosshatch teeth for a tight grip; 7- and 8-in. diagonal pliers; and 8-in. combination pliers.

The insulation is impact-resistant and flame-retardant, tested to 10,000 V AC and rated for 1,000 V AC when working on live parts.

“Our insulated pliers feature precision-machined knife-and-anvil style cutting edges to ensure perfect mating,” says Ryan DeArment, Channellock’s vice-president (VP) of sales and marketing. “They are made with high-carbon steel and a rust-preventive coating.”
