CIPEC Leadership Awards 2016 calls for nominations

February 2, 2016 – The Canadian Industry Program for Energy Conservation (CIPEC) wants your nominations for its Leadership Awards 2016!

The awards showcase the achievements of CIPEC companies that have “excelled in their work to improve energy efficiency and reduce GHG emissions”. The nomination deadline is March 4, 2016.

The awards will be presented at Energy Summit 2016 – From Ideas to Action in Niagara Falls on May 17, 2016, in the following categories…
 
• Corporate Stewardship:
Promotion of energy efficiency at the corporate level such as the creation and engagement of an energy management team or the development of a corporate energy management plan.
 
• Process and Technology Improvements:
Changes to equipment and procedures that reduce the energy intensity of an industrial process.
 
• Energy Performance Management:
Enhancement of a company’s ability to provide accurate reports on facility—or company—wide energy consumption.
 
• Employee Awareness and Training:
Development of a broader awareness and understanding of energy efficiency opportunities, best practices and the environmental and economic advantages of energy management.
 
• Integrated Energy Efficiency Strategy:
Reduction of the overall energy consumption of a facility or a company through a combination of initiatives.
 
• Future Leaders Award:
Individual contribution to the advancement (theoretical or applied) of industrial energy efficiency in Canada.

To be considered for an award, facilities or companies must be registered with Natural Resources Canada as a CIPEC Leader. Future Leaders Award nominees must be energy-related practitioners who are either enrolled in an academic institution or have recently graduated (up to five years) and who have completed research or a project pertaining to energy efficiency in the industrial sector.
