February 19, 2016 – Congratulations to Columbia Power Corp. who has been named one of B.C.’s Top Employers for 2016.

“We are honoured to be recognized as one of B.C.’s top employers for the third consecutive year,” said Frank Marino with Columbia Power. “We value our employees and are committed to providing a satisfying work environment and meaningful benefits to ensure we can recruit and retain excellent staff.”

B.C.’s Top Employers is an annual competition organized by the editors of Canada’s Top 100 Employers. The designation recognizes the employers that “lead their industries in offering exceptional places to work”.

Columbia Power says its 50 employees are “surrounded by great mountain views and easy access to an array of recreational activities when not at work including golfing, cycling, canoeing, fishing, hiking and swimming”. This benefit, along with generous maternity and parental leave top-up payments were two highlights of Columbia Power’s selection for 2016, the company says.

In addition to its employees, Columbia Power notes it provided the equivalent of 1200 jobs through the construction of the Arrow Lakes Generating Station and Brilliant Expansion Generating Station, near Castlegar and the Waneta Expansion Generating Station, near Trail.
