April 12, 2016 – The Sesco branch in Peterborough, Ont. has become the Kohler approved training centre for all contractors seeking to install and commission Kohler generators in Eastern Ontario.

“As a result of this training centre, we are now a platinum status wholesaler with Kohler,” stated Shoynear Morrison with Sonepar (Sesco is a division of Sonepar). “This means we are authorized to certify contractors to do installations, commissioning and warranty work in our region.”

The training centre offers 2.5-day sessions that include in-class and hands-on training conducted by Sesco’s own Kohler factory-trained product specialists.

Each session has generator sets on deck, which are configured to simulate a variety of technical faults that contractors must be able to diagnose and correct. Completion of the course certifies the contractor to confidently install and commission Kohler air-cooled products to 20kW.

All Kohler generators that are installed by a contractor with the above certification are covered under Kohler factory warranty. Installations by a non-certified technician does not allow the generator set to be registered with Kohler to activate the product warranty.

In addition, contractors who successfully complete the course are eligible to apply to become Kohler Warranty Providing Contractors. These contractors are listed online on KohlerGenerators.com under the “Find a Dealer” section.
