October 18, 2017 | By Anthony Capkun
October 18, 2017 – Shawn Paulsen, manager of Conformity Assessment at CSA Group, has been elected vice-president of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) and chair of its Conformity Assessment Board (CAB)—the first Canadian to be elected into this role, says CSA.
Paulsen has served as a member of the IEC Conformity Assessment Board for the last six years, and has substantial working experience with the IECEE-CB Scheme, reports CSA, sitting as a member on many working groups, and with Canadian National IEC committees.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of New Brunswick. His IEC position commences January 1, 2018, for a 3-year term, and he will continue in his role at CSA Group.
