Intertek Special Inspection (SI) services can provide custom-built or imported equipment intended for sale or use in Canada with an ETL label that is compliant with Canadian safety requirements. Special Inspection services are not intended to replace full certification. However, there are situations that require inspections quickly to verify compliance. Products found to comply with SPE-1000 are labelled on the spot. Dan Tweed, an electrical contractor based in Trail, B.C., is now qualified as a senior inspector under this program, and is available to provide services for the Kootenays and Okanagan regions of British Columbia.
