January 7, 2019 – DeWalt will bring its 60-V Max in-line stud and joist drill with E-Clutch system (DCD470) to the Canadian market in March 2019, continuing the expansion of its FlexVolt system.

The brushless drill, part of the Perform & Protect line of tools, uses the E-Clutch system in high or low speeds to sense tool motion and eliminate torque when binding is detected, by stopping the motor and notifying the user by illuminating a light. There is also a mechanical clutch for control at high or low speeds.

The drill features a two-speed quick shift, a two-position side handle, a knuckle guard and a 0.5-in. keyed chuck and chuck key holder. It runs on FlexVolt batteries, which are backward-compatible with most of DeWalt’s 20-V Max tools.
