Director’s Order amends Ontario Electrical Safety Code 2012, 25th ed.

July 6, 2013 | By Anthony Capkun

July 5, 2013 –  EBMag has learned that Ontario’s Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) has identified “an inconsistency” between the Ontario Energy Board (OEB) Distribution System Code (DSC) and the Ontario Electrical Safety Code with respect to generation facilities.

ESA says it recognizes the need to align both the OEB and ESA’s rules to provide consistency in the marketplace. To address this issue, ESA has made an amendment to the Ontario Electrical Safety Code to ensure alignment between the OESC and the Distribution System Code.

These changes will be effective August 6, 2013. For complete details of the consequential amendment to the OESC, download the Director’s Order below.

Any questions can be directed to ESA at OESC2012@electricalsafety.on.ca .
