Discounts for AEA members on EngWorks’ hazloc course

June 17, 2021 | By Anthony Capkun

June 16, 2021 – Engworks Inc. and the Alberta Electrical Alliance have entered into a partnership in which AEA members will enjoy exclusive discounts for Engworks’ hazardous locations online course; plus, AEA will receive a share of the revenues.

“Our members get an exclusive discount not offered through any other association in Alberta,” said Tara Ternes, CEO, Alberta Electrical Alliance.

“In Canada, we have two systems of classification in common use,” says Engwork’s Allan Bozek, noting this has created confusion for designers, installers and inspectors “as our codes permit both Zone and Division products to be installed in a classified facility”.

“The only way to resolve this confusion is through education,” insists Bozek.

The Hazardous Locations Fundamentals course teaches how to choose, design, install, inspect and troubleshoot equipment for use in hazardous locations. It offers seven hours of online video instruction based on Section 18 and Appendix J18 of the CE Code.

Alberta Electrical Alliance is a non-profit provincial trade association whose members include electrical contractors, manufacturers, suppliers, agents, utilities, engineers, inspectors, etc.
