January 11, 2017 – Douglas Lighting Controls, a member of the Panasonic family of companies, has opened a new facility in Burnaby, B.C., to serve as its headquarters.

Located just east of downtown Vancouver at 3605 Gilmore Way, the 9500-sf office space will allow for anticipated future growth, the company notes, and the workspace is designed to imitate the spaces where Douglas products are installed. It also includes a separate test environment for Douglas’ latest products, including wireless controls.

Douglas says these headquarters will also have a dedicated demonstration area for the company to showcase the industry’s latest advancements, including colour-change lighting and human-centric lighting that automatically adjusts based on occupant needs.

“Unrestricted access to this type of testbed facility allows us to become more customer-centric, and develop advanced, high-quality products ahead of market demand,” said Rob Mahaffey, director of product market development at Douglas Lighting Controls.
