DuPont launches Nomex MHP multi-hazard protection

September 30, 2013 | By Anthony Capkun

September 30, 2013 – DuPont’s new Nomex MHP multi-hazard protection fabrics promise inherent, multi-hazard protection that can help keep wearers safe from a variety of thermal hazards, including heat and flame, arc flash and small molten metal splashes.

The company says Nomex MHP was engineered in response to market needs and to meet or exceed the international standards for heat and flame protection (NFPA 2112, EN ISO 11612), arc flash (NFPA 70E, IEC 61482-2) and small molten metal splash protection (EN ISO 11611), “while excelling in comfort, durability and value”. Nomex MHP dries faster than cotton, says DuPont, boasting it is more durable than FR-treated cotton and other typical modacrylic blends. The flame protection of Nomex MHP is inherent, adds the company, providing permanent protection that won’t wash out or wear away.
