Start preparing for mandatory emissions disclosure

In the pursuit of achieving its net-zero targets, Ottawa will compel all of its major suppliers to disclose their GHG emissions and set reduction targets. Suppliers can fulfil this requirement by participating in Canada’s Net-Zero Challenge or another approved, internationally recognized and functionally equivalent standard or initiative. There is an additional requirement to report and reduce the embodied carbon footprint of all new major government construction projects.


Electrifying Canada aiming to expedite “build-out of decarbonized electricity systems”

The Transition Accelerator has launched an initiative “to expedite end-use electrification and the build-out of decarbonized electricity systems”. Called “Electrifying Canada”, the initiative aims to bring together organizations from finance, industry, labour, Indigenous communities, and civil society to foster dialogue between partners on the supply, demand, and finance sides of the electricity sector, thereby positioning Canada “to compete in the net-zero economy”.


Rencheck, McRae, Castellano and TransAlta recognized for “outstanding contribution”

Electricity Human Resources Canada announced the recipients of its Awards of Excellence, which were established to “recognize and celebrate individuals and organizations making a positive and outstanding contribution to the Canadian electricity industry through visionary leadership and innovation strategies”.
