SOY celebrates major milestone: 500 apprenticeship registrations

Support Ontario Youth—an industry- and government-supported apprentice sponsor group—announced the official registration of 500 apprentices. It works with apprentices, employers, and industry stakeholders to identify gaps in apprenticeship learning and training, “and help those directly involved by supporting, mentoring, and guiding their efforts to help streamline and modernize the trade pathways”.


CanREA says we must “increase the pace of build-out” of renewables/storage

Canada’s wind, solar, and energy storage sectors grew by 11.2% in 2023, according to industry data released by the Canadian Renewable Energy Association. This year’s greatest success stories were found in Atlantic Canada, the North, and Alberta. Other provinces saw no growth in their wind, solar, or energy storage sectors in 2023. CanREA says this is due to their lack of centralized procurements and corporate power purchase agreement offerings.
