East Penn front-access Unigy HR3500ET and HR7500ET batteries

September 8, 2010 | By Anthony Capkun

East Penn Mfg. expanded its front-access battery line with the Unigy HR3500ET and HR7500ET, both with a 10-year design life for UPS service. The company says the front-access terminal configuration provides both a space-saving and safer design for high-powered systems. By reducing the additional clearance needed for top connections and longer cable lengths, East Penn says UPS installations employing this battery design can maximize efficiency and long-term savings while achieving more power in less space. Unigy High Rate batteries feature IPF technology, which promises to optimize power capacities and ensure consistent cell-to-cell voltages. These batteries also use AGM (absorbed glass mat) technology to lower internal resistance for better high-rate, short-term discharges. Recessed posts with epoxy post seals act as a secure barrier to keep in acid and critical pressure. Low-pressure, self-sealing valves prevent premature dry-out and minimize gassing. All batteries are built with flame-retardant materials and flame arrestors.
