December 18, 2015 – Eaton and Pentair say they are working together to integrate Pentair’s suite of industrial heat management solutions into Eaton’s Houston Experience Centre. The installation will provide a hands-on learning opportunity within a “true application” environment, helping industry professionals gain an understanding of industrial heat management technology, maintenance and operation, according to the companies.

Pentair is providing power distribution, control and monitoring panels, heating cables, end terminations and accessories to the Experience Centre. The application shows Pentair’s heat management system fed from Eaton’s Crouse-Hinds series hazardous area panelboards.

“Eaton and Pentair are working together to create deeper training opportunities involving heat management products installed in oil and gas applications—a difficult task to achieve with active field operations,” said Allan Clark, manager at Eaton Experience Centres.

Experience Center visitors will learn about scalable solutions from single circuit controllers to multi-circuit systems using Pentair’s Raychem control systems. The application provides hands-on access to the control systems, demonstrating how the systems can be centralized and remotely monitored through software with advanced features such as alarming, configuration, data logging and trending and flexible reports, according to Eaton.

The new installation is part of a broader upgrade of the Experience Center’s industrial application solutions, Eaton noted, as in January 2016, the facility will launch a simulated upstream drilling and production rig, pump jack demonstrations, hands-on lab, and power quality lab.

The Experience Center’s 14,000 sf simulated petrochemical refinery and power distribution grid features more than 8000 products installed in applications, Eaton stated.
