Eaton’s Space-Saver connectors keep out liquids

May 28, 2015 | By Renée Francoeur

May 27, 2015 – Eaton has introduced its Crouse-Hinds series of patented Space-Saver connectors that are used to join EMT, armored, metal-clad, flexible metallic conduit or liquid-tight cable to knockouts in a box or enclosure.

Available in set screw and compression formats, these EMT fittings come with male threads on the locknut. In order to prevent loosening from vibrations or damage from sharp edges, the angled teeth on the locknut bite into the box or enclosure.

“Space-Saver fittings are available and approved for use with various types of conduit and simplify and ease the installation process, especially in those applications where available space is restricted,” said Jack King, commercial marketing manager with Eaton’s Crouse-Hinds Division.

The Space-Saver is UL-listed E-23132 wet location rated and seals out cutting oils, coolants and dust as well as moisture and water, the company said.

The Space-Saver ACB series connectors are designed for applications using AC, MC, or FMC, which is a SSACB series of fittings that combine the other Space-Saver features.
