Call for participation: IEEE High-Voltage Testing Techniques SubcommitteeDate Posted: November 08, 2016 - Date Ends: August 31, 2017
November 8, 2016 - IEEE Standards Association (IEEE-SA) is looking for participation in the IEEE High-Voltage Testing Techniques (HVTT) Subcommittee.
The primary responsibility of the HVTT subcommittee is the maintenance of IEEE 4, Standard for high-voltage testing techniques, which is the reference for proper high-voltage testing and measuring procedures for power transformers, insulated conductors, switchgear, electric machinery, surge protective devices and more.
In addition, the HVTT subcommittee currently has active working groups writing standards to define requirements for digital recording instruments used in high-voltage impulse measurements. It is also developing a safety guide for use by supervisors, engineers and technicians performing high-voltage tests and measurements.
The HVTT subcommittee needs the support and participation of those in industry and academia who are willing to contribute their knowledge of new technologies as they emerge and evolve: including HV apparatus manufacturers, HV test equipment manufacturers, utilities and HV testing and calibration service providers.
The subcommittee and its working group meetings occur twice annually. A web meeting will also be offered for those who are interested in participating, but are unable to physically attend.
