June 30, 2011 | By Alyssa Dalton

June 30, 2011 – Electro-Federation Canada (EFC), a national, not-for-profit industry association, has appointed Brisette Lucas as vice president, Government Relations & Policy, effective July 11, 2011. Lucas will be a member of EFC’s senior leadership team and will report directly to Jim Taggart, president and CEO, EFC.

In this newly-developed role, Lucas will lead and coordinate EFC’s government relations and public policy initiatives in Canada. Her duties will include setting policy strategy, driving EFC-member government relations priorities, steering the EFC Government Relations Committee, as well as monitoring and advising on Canadian federal and provincial policy and regulatory issues. She will also represent EFC before federal and provincial institutions at senior levels, and interact with all relevant members and other key stakeholders.

“With the proliferation of government-mandated regulations and policies affecting the Canadian electrical and electronics markets today, it is imperative to have a dedicated person at the helm of government relations to proactively influence the development of public policy so that it benefits our members,” said Jim Taggart. “I am very pleased to welcome Brisette to the EFC team and am certain she will make significant inroads in the government relations realm.”

Lucas most recently worked at LG Electronics Canada Inc. as a Compliance Manager in the Legal department. Prior to LG, she served in the Compliance, Corporate Oversight & Regulatory Affairs department of Atomic Energy of Canada. She also served as a Lawyer at Hudson Legal and worked at Citigroup as a Compliance Officer.
