October 25, 2016 – Congratulations to Mike Marsh, president and CEO of SaskPower, for earning the title Leader of the Year 2016 from Electricity Human Resources Canada (EHRC).

“We are pleased to recognize Mike as this year’s winner. He is a great leader with a fair and amicable way of engaging with people, having strong labour relations skills from years of experience at the bargaining table,” said Norm Fraser, EHRC chair. “As a proponent of health and safety, Mike possesses the necessary experience to support and lead the industry forward.”

The Leader of the Year award was established by EHRC in 2013 to recognize and celebrate an individual who has made an “outstanding contribution to their organization within the Canadian electricity industry through visionary people management strategies and leadership”. EHRC says the successful nominee is an individual who has affected positive change and is dedicated to ensuring that their workforce has the opportunity and skills to contribute to the business’ overall strategy and success.

Marsh began his career in engineering and maintenance, joining SaskPower in 1991 and taking the helm as president and CEO in 2014.
