August 23, 2016 - GE and Hitachi Ltd. are selling their joint venture—GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy Canada Inc. (GEH-C)—to BWXT Canada Ltd., a supplier of CANDU and pressurized water reactor steam generators worldwide, as well as other plant components.
August 16, 2016 - The HRNG 95 T6 gaseous generator has made its debut from Hipower Systems, a manufacturer of power-generation and power distribution equipment in Canada.
August 15, 2016 - The Point Lepreau nuclear generating station is now operating at 100% reactor power, putting about 660MW on the New Brunswick grid, according to the province.
August 8, 2016 - Kohler Generators is introducing a 30kW standby generator, designed for large homes and small businesses. The Kohler 30RCL features a 1800-rpm liquid-cooled Kohler engine and patented noise-reduction technology.
August 3, 2016 - Caterpillar has introduced its Cat DG series gas generator sets ranging from 30 to 150ekW (electrical kilowatts) for small commercial and municipal applications in North America.
July 20, 2016 - Kineticor Resource Corp. says it 100MW Peace River Power Project is inching closer to reality as it has entered into long-term agreements with oil and gas producers. According to the company, this project will use associated gas—produced as a result of heavy oil production near Peace River, Alta.—to create energy while reducing flaring in the area.  
July 18, 2016 - This week SaskPower is welcoming 50 students from around the world for the 10th edition of the CCS Summer School in Regina, organized by the International Energy Agency Greenhouse Gas Programme (IEAGHG). Coming from 17 countries, the graduate and post-graduate students are visiting Saskatchewan’s carbon capture and storage (CCS) initiatives and discussing the future of the technology.

July 6, 2016 - The Canadian nuclear industry says it is pleased North American leaders have included nuclear in their pledge to have 50% of the continent’s electricity produced by “clean sources” by 2025. This goal was announced last week at the North American Leaders' Summit in Ottawa.
June 28, 2016 - An international industry assessment has recognised Ontario Power Generation’s (OPG) Darlington Nuclear Generating Station as one of the “safest and best performing nuclear stations in the world” for the third time in a row. It is the first time a plant outside the United States has received the recognition three times, according to OPG.
June 23, 2016 - Unit 2 has returned to service, announced nuclear operator Bruce Power earlier this week, following a planned maintenance and investment program.
June 20, 2016 - Hydro Ottawa announced it has entered into a purchase and sale agreement with Hydro-Quebec to acquire the remaining 33% interest in the Ottawa River Ring Dam and a 27MW hydro generating station (Centrale Hull 2) on the Gatineau side of Chaudière Falls.
