September 29, 2016 - SaskPower has awarded a contract to Burns & McDonnell for engineer/procure/construct (EPC) services for the new Chinook Power Station, a 350MW natural gas-fired power facility to be located in rural south-western Saskatchewan, near Swift Current. The company issued a formal notice to proceed in July and engineering design is underway.

August 16, 2016 - The HRNG 95 T6 gaseous generator has made its debut from Hipower Systems, a manufacturer of power-generation and power distribution equipment in Canada.
August 15, 2016 - The Point Lepreau nuclear generating station is now operating at 100% reactor power, putting about 660MW on the New Brunswick grid, according to the province.
