Enmax Place flips the switch on rooftop solar PV installation

August 29, 2013 | By Anthony Capkun

August 28, 2013 – Today, Enmax Corp. placed the final solar photovoltaic (PV) panels on the roof of its head office (Enmax Place), thereby completing, says the company, one of the largest solar installations in Calgary. Covering over 8000 sf, the system will produce enough energy annually to power about one-third of HQ’s computers and monitors.

“We are committed to energy solutions that improve our direct use of cleaner sources of electricity,” said Gianna Manes, president and CEO, Enmax Corp. “This solar installation will provide us with excellent knowledge and insight that we can apply to both our home solar product offering and the commercial line currently under development.”

The new system will provide about 57,000 kWh of energy each year. The output will be monitored daily via a web-based program that provides real-time data.
