October 20, 2011 | By Anthony Capkun

October 19, 2011 – Erico says its SES40P series of surge protection devices (SPDs) is designed to provide “economical protection against damaging transients and surge events”. These products are cUL and UL listed to 1449 Ed. 3 as Type 1 devices, which allows them to be installed on the line or load side of the service panel without requiring overcurrent protection. The DC models are listed under UL 1449 Ed. 3 for photovoltaic systems. Primary applications are solar combiner boxes, service entrance, branch and OEM panels, UL 96A lightning protection installations and streetlighting pole applications. The housing is constructed of UV-stabilized thermoplastic and designed to meet the UL 50 Type 4X rating, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications. All of the AC models have a 20 kA nominal discharge current rating.
