Essex Powerlines donates $4,030 to Coats for Kids following paperless billing campaign
November 27, 2019 By Kavita Sabharwal-Chomiuk
Essex Powerlines (EPL) recently held a paperless billing campaign, Go Paperless with a Purpose, which saw 403 EPL customers register for paperless billing. For each customer that registered to go paperless, EPL donated $10 to Coats for Kids, for a grand total of $4,030 raised for the charity.
The Coats for Kids program was in jeopardy this year due to lack of storage space, money to wash coats and new collection sites, and so released a call for action, which EPL helped support. In addition to the monetary donation, EPL employees also held an internal campaign to collect coats for donation.
“We are so grateful for this amazing donation from Essex Powerlines Corporation. Having these donations will help to ensure many adults and children across Windsor-Essex will have a coat this season,” said June Muir, CEO of the Unemployed Help Centre.
