Exfo says its new ETS-1000 ethernet analyzer allows for easy and reliable turn-up and installation of carrier-grade ethernet services over metro networks. Its feature set delivers specific functionality required by field technicians, says the company, while “achieving cost-optimized performance”. Technicians can transmit up to layer-4 traffic, with fully configurable virtual local area networks (VLANs), multiprotocol label switching (MPLS) and quality of service (QoS) parameters. The ETS-1000 supports all of today’s ethernet/IP field-testing capabilities, including RFC 2544, bit-error rate and packet jitter, as well as multistream generation and analysis. Meantime, the ETS-1000L is a dedicated hand-held ethernet loopback device that supports simple user configuration for full wire-speed testing, from Layer 1 through 4. Both the ETS-1000 and ETS-1000L are fully interoperable with all Exfo ethernet products.
