FIA Formula E racing at the Montreal ePrix!
April 7, 2017 – “It is only natural that we support this major event,” said Éric Martel, president & CEO of Hydro-Quebec, after the utility announced it is serving as title sponsor of the Montreal ePrix, part of the FIA motor racing championship featuring single-seater cars powered exclusively by electricity.
“Our clean and renewable energy will supply not only Formula E cars, but also the electric vehicles that are taking to Quebec roads in greater and greater numbers,” added Martel.

The 2016-2017 FIA Formula E Championship sees 10 teams and 20 drivers go wheel-to-wheel in 10 cities spanning five continents in the fight to be crowned Formula E champion. The inaugural ePrix was held in Beijing, September 2014.
Montreal will host the last two events of the 2016-2017 FIA Formula E season, which is presented by Fédération internationale de l’automobile (FIA). The action takes place in downtown Montreal, July 29 and 30, 2017.
The championship represents a vision for the future of the motor industry, adds Hydro-Quebec, serving as a platform to showcase the latest innovations in EV technology and alternative energy solutions.
