FiberZone adding fiber automation to CERN Network

September 20, 2011 | By Anthony Capkun

September 20, 2011 – FiberZone Networks, a provider of automated fiber management (AFM) solutions for data centres and networks, announced it will be providing fiber automation for CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research. CERN, the operator of the Large Hadron Collider, will use FiberZone’s AFM to test and certify new equipment before deployment to CERN facilities.

“FiberZone made a concerted effort to design a capable solution to switch connections efficiently across different equipment of various port speeds and protocol types,” said Edoardo Martelli, CERN communication systems expert.

“We are proud to deploy our automated fiber management solution at CERN ,” said Yosi Lahad, CEO of FiberZone Networks. “The CERN implementation is a significant example of how an organization can futureproof their fiber switch capabilities and achieve cost-saving scalability.”
