Dialight launches A0/A1 24-48v DC Red Obstruction Controller System

June 30, 2016 | By Renée Francoeur

June 30, 2016 – Dialight has launched its A0/A1 Red Controller system. The company claims this A0/A1 system has the lowest DC power consumption in the industry, making it ideal for operating its Vigilant low (L-810) and medium (L-864) intensity red obstruction lights typically for met towers for the wind industry or cellular communication towers where solar and battery or generators are used as the power source.

The new controller and monitoring system lets operators set flash rates at 20, 30 or 40 seconds per minute, as well as a steady-on mode. The controller can be mounted at the base of the structure and access on a universal 24-48V DC input.

Drawing just under 3W, the system enables the use of smaller batteries and panels for a much lower overall system cost, Dialight says.

The onboard monitoring system measures current flow into the marker lights, triggering a report or alert via contact closure if voltage is out of spec, the company adds. Each controller can accommodate a maximum of 16 L-810 side markers or 8 L-810 markers and one L-864 beacon.
