October 9, 2018 | By Peter Saunders

October 9, 2018 – Forward Looking Infrared (FLIR) Systems, which produces thermal imaging devices for electrical contractors and other professionals, has hired Tony Buffum as senior vice-president (SVP) and chief human resources officer (CHRO). He succeeds Paul Sale, who recently announced his resignation.
Buffum started his career at General Electric (GE) in 2003 and went on to hold numerous human resources (HR) leadership roles with Stanley Black & Decker, most recently serving as vice-president (VP) of HR for its security business unit.
As a member of FLIR’s executive management team, Buffum will report to president and CEO Jim Cannon and assume a strategic role in continued growth and overall operations. Among his priorities will be spearheading talent recruitment, training and development efforts. He will also provide insight to the board of directors with regard to compensation and succession planning.
“I’m excited to welcome Tony,” says Cannon. “He will be a valuable partner to all of our team members in developing and successfully executing our strategy.”
