Fluke 1000FLT promises to test fluorescents in less than 30 seconds

October 6, 2014 | By Alyssa Dalton

October 6, 2014 – The Fluke 1000FLT fluorescent light tester promises to eliminate the guesswork of maintaining fluorescent lamps by performing all the essential tests on lamps in less than 30 seconds: lamp tester, ballast tester, non-contact voltage detector, pin continuity tester, and ballast discriminator.

According to the company, the tester eliminates trial, error, and rework, and reduces the time maintenance teams spend fixing lights. To use, point the unit at the glowing bulb and determine the ballast type, without removing the bulb or making contact with live circuitry, says Fluke. It comes with a metal test rod that extends up to 31 in. (79 cm) and a belt-style holster.
